Henry Margusity über US-Ostküste und Tropischen Sturm KATIA (nicht Katja): Kein Landfall, aber von Hurrikan gebürstet

Henry Margusity ist der Mann, der schon vor der Ankunft des Hurrikans IRENE darauf hinwies, dass die US-Ostküste kurz nach dem Labor Day einen weiteren Hurrikan zu erwarten hätte.

Und auch weiterhin ist Henry Margusity bei Weitem nicht so konservativ mit seiner Prognose wie man es beim NHC der NOAA ist, womit gemeint ist, dass er über die beim NHC der NOAA üblicherweise prognostizierten kommenden 5 Tage ab Prognoseerstellung hinausgeht. Die gesicherte Zukunftsform verwendend hegt er nicht den geringsten Zweifel daran, dass KATIA zu einem Major Hurricane (mindestens Kategorie 3 laut Saffir-Simpson) wird.

Und er sieht KATIA einige Zeit vor Ankunft an der US-Ostküste einen Rechtsknick machen:

"As for the next hurricane, T.D. 12 will become Katia the next few days and become a major hurricane in the Atlantic.

The model spread has the storm staying far off the Atlantic coast which is good, but I am concerned that the trend will be back to the west. Right now I do not see a land fall hurricane on the East coast, but I can see a hurricane brushing the East Coast the week of Sept. 5-11."
